  6. This interim release 1) improves upon the documentation, 2) includes a new
  7. install routine if distributed on disk (as opposed to via BBSs), 3)
  8. announces our NEW ADDRESS and 4) corrects any and all known bugs.

  10. To Install SolveIt!, you must have an MS-DOS/PC-DOS (IBM compatible)
  11. computer running DOS v2.1 or greater. You must have a hard drive with at
  12. least 1.6mb of FREE disk space. You may run the program on a 720K floppy, but
  13. you have to have a hard drive to install it first. You also need 512k of
  14. free RAM.

  16. AUTOMATIC INSTALL:
  17.  
  18. If this version came to you via DISK, you should have 2 disks (for 3.5"
  19. disks, you MAY have only one disk), insert Disk #1 into drive A: or B: and
  20. enter INSTALL. For example, if you put Disk #1 into drive A: enter:

  22. A:INSTALL
  23.  
  24. This will start the automatic installation process. Just follow the on
  25. screen prompts. That's all there is to it! The install program, will NOT
  26. modify any of your .SYS or .BAT files. We strongly recommend that you
  27. use the supplied INSTALL program.

  29. MANUAL INSTALL:
  30.  
  31. If you do not wish to use the install program, you can perform a manual
  32. installation. Just follow these steps to install disk #1:
  33.  
  34. To install SolveIt! using the manual method, we suggest that you do the
  35. following:
  36.  
  37.    C:>CD \              <enter>   You may use any hard drive, not just C:>
  38.    C:>MD SLVIT42        <enter>
  39.    C:>CD \SLVIT42       <enter>
  40.    C:>COPY A:*.*        <enter>   or substitute B: for A: if disk is in B:
  41.    C:>SLV4DOC           <enter>   Decompresses the documentation files.
  42.    C:>Del Slv4doc.exe   <enter>   Gets rid of the unnecessary archieve file.

  71. All program files are provided on Disk #2. Put Disk #2 in drive A: (or
  72. B:) and enter A:README2 for details. (The INSTALL program on Disk #1 will
  73. automatically install the program files found on Disk #2.)

  75. The automatic install program, First Impression (c), is provided under
  76. license by Lincoln Beach Software, Ballwin MO, (314) 227-2431. The COM files
  77. were converted from TXT files using ASC2COM under license from MorganSoft,
  78. Salem, OR., (503) 364-2002. We found both of these programs to be invaluable
  79. and the respective company's tech support to be superb. Our thanks to both.
